Section 40
Entry into the polling station
: (1) The polling officer shall not allow anyone other than the following persons to enter the polling station:-
(a) Voters,
(b) the candidate or one of his election agents or polling agents,
(c) an observer authorized by the Commission,
(d) a person authorized by the Commission, Election Officer or Polling Officer,
(e) a child not exceeding five years of age accompanying the voter,
(f) A member of the family of one household accompanying the visually impaired or physically challenged voter.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-section (1), the polling officer shall not allow a person carrying any type of weapon or an intoxicated person to enter the polling station, except for the security personnel assigned to protect the polling station.
(3) Other than the voters who have entered the polling station and are yet to vote, after the end of the voting time, other voters will not be allowed to enter or stay there.
